The Foamy Bones Project: All Souls Procession, Tucson 2010

"Foamy Bones" is the puppet I created in 2008 to participate in the annual Tucson All Souls Procession. More than seventy items now decorate his skull and garment, creations and contributions of friends and family which honor people, pets, places and ideas from the past. Each year, I remove the decorative items and bury them, to be exhumed and used again in the following year's procession. Please contact me if you are interested in the pilgrimage to Tucson and participating in the All Souls Procession.

Painting finished May 2

My friend Brynn gave me a photo from a National Geographic Magazine, circa 1974, with this cool kid pondering a blank sheet of paper. I don't paint from photos very often, and thought it'd be a helpful exercise to give it a shot.
